Notes on a road trip - Day 3

 25 August 2022, Thursday

It rained. I slept. The end. 😜

That was overly dramatic, even for me, so let me expand a bit.

First of all, 25 August is a special day - Happy birthday, Marni! It was really cold and overcast, but after sleeping in a bit, we ventured to Nieuwoudtville and took a few photos of the flowers along the way. We were dropping off pamphlets for Nakkie at the information centre, which is located at the NG Church hall.  Fortuitously, pancakes are for sale from Monday to Friday at the hall, so of course we supported the local economy. By the time we had bought the pancakes though, it was raining and we headed back.

I then made use of the opportunity to recover a bit from the 2 days of travelling - short nap, reading, longer nap, reading ... you get the picture! 😀 There may even have been a bit of medium cream fortified wine (sherry*) in the mix. All in all, a very relaxing day.

We concluded the day with some pork chops, salad and wine before turning in. The end.

* Just like champaign, we are not allowed to use the term sherry officially - hence the brackets. 

Given that there was indeed more to day 3 than I thought, it will stand on its own feet... or is it ether?!
